BG Be Active Association is looking for one young person (18 up to 29 years old) from the EU countries to be part of our next EVS project „Let’s MOVE Bulgaria“. For our new project, we will have 3 young people for the position of Youth officers. The remaining position is only for volunteers from the EU country.
About the project activities
The activities of the volunteers will be part of NowWeMOVE campaign (http://www.nowwemove.com/) in Bulgaria, which BG Be Active coordinates on national level for the past 5 years. The activities will be also related to our new initiative The_Spot – http://thespot.bgbeactive.org/ (Please use Google Translate to see the text on the website in English). In 2017, BG Be Active is managing the implementation of the first by its scale national placemaking initiative The_Spot. The project aims at the physical renovation of 10 specific public places in 10 different cities with a focus of involving youth in the process, using a placemaking approach. Тhe_Spot project is a collaborative effort between multiple local partners including youth NGOs, municipalities, local youth groups as well as local communities.
The volunteers that we are currently looking for will acquire new knowledge and skills in various fields through participation in the implementation of the NowWeMOVE Bulgaria campaign. It includes several main events MOVE Week, European School Sports Day (ESSD), No Elevators Day, Flash MOVE and many more events, which are part of the pan-European campaign NowWeMOVE – an initiative that is fighting with the lack of physical activity in Europe, by inspiring local MOVE Agents and organisations in providing opportunities for sport and physical activity for all.
Another focus of the project will be specific local communities in different Bulgarian cities, where we have implemented The_Spot project in 2017, or where we plan future implementation in 2018. The volunteers will work with local young people and stakeholders to promote physical activity for health and to involve them in the NowWeMOVE campaign.
Also as part of this project the volunteers will have the opportunity to develop Erasmus+ projects or work on the active projects of the organisation. They will be able, to be part of the development and implementation of other physical activity promotion campaigns of BGBA.
The project reflects the commitment of BGBA for development and the transfer of innovative programmes in the field of physical activity for health and wellbeing by promoting “sport for all” and its social and health dimensions thus aims to change the situation in the country in a positive way.
Profile of the volunteer
We are looking for motivated young people who believe in the importance of physical activity for health and wellbeing. The young person is should be interested in learning Bulgarian and open to communication with Bulgarians. We would like to have people who are ready to learn from us and our experience, and to share their experience. For us is important the young people to be open to the different national context – the Bulgarian culture in communication and working environment. Volunteers with interests in communication, social media, photo and video making and editing are very suitable for the planned activities.
